going down....
So todays weigh in had me at 121.8 lbs. Down from 123 on Saturday. My goal is not to lose any more weight, I would really prefer to maintain at this point, or put on to be 125. I have reintroduced breads/grains (but before 3 pm) a couple weeks ago, but the weight continues to drop. Not a bad problem to have I suppose!!
Todays kettlebell class was really good...challenging and I managed to use the 25lb for most of the exercises....progress!!

photos then and now...
This was Christmas 2011. Around 148-150 lbs. Not horrible....but not where I wanted to be weight wise.
November 16, around 125
Goals for 2013.....
2013 is a big year for me....I will be turning 40!
With that in mind I want to enter my 40's in the best shape of my ife. I want to be long and lean, well toned and full of energy.
I am so close to being there but I still have more to work on.
This year:
I want a six pack. If its at all possible.
I want a firmer more rounded butt.
I want tighter arms with nice shoulders but not bulky.
I want a boob job (okay...I am not getting one but a girl can dream)
I want to maintain my weight around the 125 mark.
I want to continue to eat sensibly.
To acheive this I have decided to consult a personal trainer to get a food plan and work out plan. I will do this after Christmas for financial reasons, and to get through the holiday season with less guilt.
This is my plan...and my last goal is to journal my way to fitness so that I can stay accountable and on track!
The current routine....
Barring no influenza outbreak in the house, my workout routine looks like this:
Monday - 6 AM legs work out with my BFF
Tuesday - 7 AM kettle bell class at the gym (currently using 25 lb kettlebel for most moves but 20lb for most over the head moves)
Wednesday 6 AM cardio/weight interval class. Love it! (Same one since january 2012)
Thursday - 6 AM run/walk on treadmill for an hour
Friday - 6 AM arms work out with BFF
Saturday - 9 am kickboxing class....but recently attended an 8 am bootcamp which rocked so will likely start doing both in January when our kickboxing instructor is back from holidays)
Sunday - 3.5 KM speed walk around the loop...that has lots of hills...pushing 3 year old in the stroller. Its fun and great cardio!
I am enjoying the routine....the monday and friday arms and legs routine is something that my BFF obtained from a trainer...so I basically copy what she does but have heavier weights.
and now....
So that last post brings me to today....
Today....I am 123 lbs.
Today....I did not work out....but only because we are fighting a losing battle with the flu in my house.
Today....I have a flat(ish) tummy. Not yet a six pack....but not the gross roll over your pants piece of flab it was a year ago.
Today.... I have a half decent butt, but needs more lifting (will be writing on goals later..)
Today....I like my body (mostly...but we all need goals right??)
And what I did to get to today I wish I would have journaled all along.
In December (the 31st I believe) I started working out at a gym that opened that very day up the street. Literally, up the street. I started working out three days a week....attending classes as I could not push myself to just work out on my own. I was taking a hot yoga class and two cardio/weight interval classes. And I was still eating like crap.
I ended up doing that for 5 months and lost 10 lbs! I think the cardio and added muscle gain helped eat up those 10 lbs. Then towards the summer I started getting serious. Losing that 10 lbs helped me see that I could lose weight...I could reach my goal.
I upped my workouts to four times a week around May...and then to five and in September I upped it to six days at the gym and added in 3.5 km speed walk pushing a 37 lb child in a stroller. Lol.
In the summer I stopped eating at McDonalds and other greasy fast food places. In September I stopped eating white potatoes, rice and breads for dinner. I went super low carb/high greens for about 6 weeks which I think re-jump started my weight loss and I went down 10 lbs in that time. I called it my "shit yourself skinny" plan. Adding a lot of veggies and greens does that. I'm eating breads again but no startchy carbs after 3 pm.
I eat a fruit and protein smoothie every day at breakfast, on weekends I add in oatmeal. I eat a lot of veggies through the day between meals. Dinners consist of a shit load of salad, and fish or chicken. Sometimes a bbq'd burger.
And that's how I came to be 123. And I feel great!
The beginning...
Ummmm....yeah, so I created this blog ages ago (a year ago??), in an effort to help myself lose weight.
And then I never blogged about it. But I wish I did.
When this blog was created I was bouncing between 145 to 150 lbs. Which was a lot for me. A LOT!
When I met my husband in 2004 I weighed 117 lbs. My goal at that time was to actually gain wieght by adding muscle. I worked out but as the relationship progressed I worked out less and ate more. It's pretty common I believe. I did get over 127 by the time we married in 2005 but it wasn't weight from muscle gain.
Then came the babies! After having our second child I stayed at about 160 for 7 months. Then I started walking regularly and for 2 months did the Jillian Michaels Shred DVD. It was great and I returned to work in June 2010 at 132 lbs! I was so happy! But with working full time, two youg kids and a teen, there was no time to be found to work out. So I gained 16 lbs in a year. Then in June 2011 I started working out three mornings a week doing weights with no cardio and no effort to manage a good diet. I went up and down a few pounds from June to Dec 2011 and that brought me to the creation of this blog....which I then ignored.
